Title of Book - The Chocolate War
Pages in the book - 263 I am now on page 263 I read all of the book until this week.
I understand about 75% of what I read.


1. Arche doesn't help to sell chocolate well. Arche give assignment to Jerry about refuse to sell chocolate for a while. Teacher Leon really embarrassed about Jerry's attitude. End of assignment, all of students know that Jerry was effected by Arche. Teacher Leon know about this, too. After that, Leon expect to Jerry about selling chocolate. However, Jerry feel like disgusted to Leon. Therefore, Jerry refuse Leon's asking again. Finally, Jerry become a hiro to all of students. Students become to deny chocolate and decrease amount of selling. Students don't afraid of Leon and Arche anymore. Finally, Leon and Arche are partner of protecting their power.

I finished the book, but I think it's getting more and more interesting. So, I don't regret to choose this book, I recomend student to choose this book. Because I think this book's content is step by step going to interesting, and the level is not too diffcult, many new vocablaries. It's good chanllenge to every Level 4 students. After read the book, base on how much perpent did you understand, you can build up your confidence on English reading. I like the book!

This article is about French designer Yves Saint Laurent, it introduces about Yves Saint Laurent and his company. He died Sunday in Paris after a long illness. He was 71. His carrer that ran from 1957 to 2002. He changed the way women dress. He prefers woman need to be fashionable was pair of pants, a sweater and a raincoat. He was a master colorist, able to mix green, blue, rose and yellow in on outfit to achieve an effect that was artistic and never garish. His ready to wear label, Rive Gauche , which was sold to Gucci in 1999, still has boutiques around the world.

I think he was great. The world need fashion, the people fashion. He introduced women to peacoat and pant suits. He created so many new things. He gave people a lots of choices. The world changed colorful becasue of him. The world need this kind of person, like Yves Saint Laurent.

According to this article, Kecin Garnett got 18 points and 11 rebounds. Paul pierce got 22 points. The Celtics turned back the pesky Hawks with a 99-65 victory Sunday in Game 7 of their playoff series to advance to the second round. Boston went 66-16 for the league's best record. The home-court advantage proved pivotal against an up start team that fed off its own crowd but wilted on the road, losing four times by a total of 101 points.

Personal Response:

Why did I choose the sports article, because I like NBA, and especially I like Kevin Garnett, Boston have Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, the two great palyers. I think they will do well in the second round play off game. This year, Boston, I think they can get the final game, great player and many nice player make up a team, of course that's a very nice match. And the article, Kevin Garnett just got 18 points, is less than before. but , look at the game, the match ,the result, I think Kevin is getting more better and better, before,Kevin can get 50, 60 points in one game,but, now ,I think he is more care about all of the team. That's a great palyer. not just care about indivisual. Good luck Boston.

I understand about 75% of what I read.

I would like brother leon for the best character in the book. Because he is very interesting, always has some funny things happen on him. I think he has a lot of attactives that can make reader want to konw more about him , about the novel. And the most important reason is the novel almost 50% described him, he made the novel context step by step going to the end, if you read a little bit of the novel, probabaly you want to read more , and you might want to konw what's going on the next chapter. That's causes by him--brother leon. This is why I would like brother leon for the best character of the novel.

B. Personal Response: According to this article, I think nowadays the wedding is getting multi- types and modern. The yong people have a lot of problems about
wedding, becasue it is very important choice and event. They all talk
the cost of wedding. Is it good or not? The author said": It never hurts to
ask. But konw the professional you are dealing with......." Actually, this is
choice, the news just a guide for you. But, how to deal with the choice, you
are free....this article is telling you that how to save money and saving
family relationships.....

I think this part is significant, " The Goober Was BEAUTIFUL when he ran. His long arms and legs moved flowingly and flawlessly, his body floating as if his feet weren't touching the ground. When he ran, he forgot about his acne and his awkwardness and the shyness that paralyzed him when a girl looked his way. Even his thoughts became sharper........."

I choose this part because it's very interesting. I think this part really make me into the context, make me into the story, and I can image the really scence, like watch a moive. I can think about what's going on in the novel. It causes lots of imagenations. That's why I choose this part as significant part.

Leon is the most interesting character. Because he always make some problems and make the novel colorful. makes me get into the context.

"As you konw, gentlemen," Brother leon began, addressing the class directly and ignoring Bailey completely although the boy was standing beside him,"as you konw, a certain discipline must be maintained in a school...........

I think it's going to happen someting interesting in brother leon's class.......

I found the book in downtown bookstore. First I was interested in the cover of the book, and the i read the summary, I think it will be a very interesting book for me.

The first two chapters just talking about some main people in the book and they are in a game. I think they will have a lot of chocolate. I felt nothing while I was reading the book so far.

I think I will like the book, becasue the first two chapters didn't make me boring.

Hi, everyone! I'm Eason, I'm from China, 21 years old. I have been Seattle for 1 year. During the one year, I learned a lots of things which I have never seen, never heard before. I had two hostfamilies, both are very nice, from them I learned so many American cultures, lots of interesting things. At school, I have a lot of friends, they are from different countries, so I get to konw many different kinds of cultures, it's very interesting. Also all of my teacher here are very friendly , and really help me to improve English, at here , I should say thanks a lot to every my teacher. Everything in the US gave me the first appearence are wonderful, friendly......I like here. Ok, let me talk about something before I came to the US. I was in China before, I graduated from my unversity. My major was Japanese, so I can speak some Japanese. Now, I'm here for study english, american degree. The important thing is english is very important language in the world, I'm a kind of person,very interesting on language, so learn language is very interseting and useful for me. I have already learned Japanese , so nomatter Janpanese or English are very important and useful for my future. Anyway, this me, a friendly , sunny , and activity chinese guy.
